4th November, 6.30-8.30pm: World Church Banquet - celebration with food, music & displays about our Synod connections with Taiwan, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Italy, Namibia and India! Mon 2nd-4th October:The Elders Training Course – The course over 3 whole days.
Fri 6th-8th October: LLR06 – The annual retreat for Local Leaders, this year at Loyola Hall. Please encourage your Local Leader, if you have one, to attend.
Sat 14th October:Looking at Luke - John Campbell takes a look at next years Lectionary gospel; not just for worship leaders but for anyone interested in learning a little more about Luke. 10am-1pm in Windermere. Lunches available.
Fri 20th-22nd October: Playing with Parables - A series of multi-sensory workshops to explore how to make parables accessible to ordinary people. This will be creative, messy and fun! Windermere Centre - Cost £150. For Members and Elders of the NW Synod this will be subsided through the Grant system. Please book through the centre and contact Carole for details of the subsidy.
Sat 28th October:Silence and Retreat Day – A District Quiet Day in the Lancashire District. All Welcome – For more information please contact Richard Gill on 01524 427764
Sat 4th November: A Reason to Visit – A day for those who visit and care for others.
Mon 4th-7th December: "God the Great Disrupter” – an Advent Retreat with Lawrence Moore.
A chance to look at two couples whose lives were totally disrupted by the first Christmas: Elizabeth and Zachariah, and Mary and Joseph. There is now a Training Resource Centre at the Synod Office in Patricroft.
The room is filled with practical resources for youth and adult training. There are sections on:-
URC policy,
Pastoral care,
Bible study,
Art resources,
Small group worship,
Working with young people.
All materials can be borrowed and there is also a digital projector to borrow, and a full Labyrinth Kit that can be delivered.
